Guys, the rollers are for the roots. You roll them a certain way and it make the roots stretch. It cuts down on the drying time and the scalp doesn’t have a lot of heat applied on it so it doesn’t burn the scalp.

Thats their technique to keep the hair soft and silky and the rollers help the roots of the hair.

Question? Does this Person have a license to practice cosmetology? The hair is over processed with blow drying of hair that is already dry, and then adding the flatiron!! This is damaging the cuticle layer of hair and will eventually cause breakage. Show me a video of this same client in three months!

Her hair came out really pretty, BUT that is TOO much heat.

yea I always thought the blowdryer was for drying :/ tht def cud hv been skipped since the flatironing lifted it n gave it the volume anyway

The blowdrying is definitely necessary. You want long lasting results. The blowdry adds memory to the cuticle of the hair. Roundbrushing it to the desired form. While flatironing is only for smoothing. Which can or doesn’t have to be used after the memory of the blowdryer is achieved. Most of the time, the iron is used after blowdrying, for the added effect. The blowdryer is what adds the bounce. Which is why, women with already straightened hair, go to salons for a blowdry, for the bounce.

So many women are “afraid” of the heat. If this was the case, than why use just the flatiron? The flatiron is direct heat from heated plates, which is actually more damaging to the hair. A blowdryer, although hot as well, uses air, more body and longer lasting results. Heat achieves the look. The more heat the better. This is why there are heat protectors on the market. The steam from the clients hair is white, meaning the product applied to the hair is steaming off, its not the hair burning.
