I’m a nail tech and those chairs will not break from an over weight person sitting in them. Maybe if they were like 400 lbs. I have many over weight clients. They should have refused service to start with or advised her up front that it would be more. When you enter some salons they try to tack on extras to make as much money as they can. Extra for more callus, extra for uv dry, extra for special massage. It’s ridiculous. Stop going to these places and stop getting treated like a number.

what is she atlking about ? she is such a liar those chairs don’t have a weight limit…. besides this woman is right if you want to charge extra put something outside about this .. Don’t she know half of the population in the USA is overweight? This lady is going to loose some serious business

I think they should put up a sign or make it known before hand that there is a charge for people over 200 pounds if they are getting a pedicure, instead of surprising the customer later. I hate surprise charges…that wasn’t cool. Although, her weight isn’t the issue, it’s the lack of curteosy. The customer should’ve not been charged for her first visit to the pedi but should be allowed a heads up for a future visit. IMO

I think that lady should post the weight limit for the chairs so that people will know ahead of time.

THAT womans voice alone would make me walk out. Wear and tear? SURE. How about buying better chairs? What happened to thats the cost of giving a service? I will never get my nails done. I have seen these holes in the walls. Dirty cheap looking big signs. All inside dont speak much english and they are in a hurry. Remember Paula Abduls nail? YIKES.

private business or not…if you are going to post the price for service on the wall include all exceptions …yeah they can rightfully refuse service but they didn’t they let her sit in the chair. $5 isn’t a large fee but you should know u are being charged extra in any case
